Attacks:

Wash Buckler is a swappable character so he has attacks specific to the top half and the bottom half. The base attack for the top half is called Sword Slash. With it, Wash Buckler will attack enemies with his sword. He then has three upgrades before choosing a path. The first, Bubble Blaster, give him a secondary attack that shoots a bubble to encapsulate enemies. Next, Bladesail makes his sword more powerful. Plus, you can now hold down the button to charge up and let go to rush and attack the enemy. Finally, Dangerous Waters fills the bubble with piranha. At this point, you have to choose the first or second upgrade path. The first one has Parley Popper, which lets you pop the bubble with your swords to turn it into a shield of sorts. It also has First Mate Cutlass, which makes your sword attack stronger. The second upgrade path focuses on the bubbles. Marooned makes the bubbles more powerful. It also lets you hold the bubble button to charge it and then release to shoot two bubbles that will encapsulate more than one enemy. Second, Captain of Piranha Bay will make your piranhas more deadly after you buy it. The Soul Gem (found in Twisty Tunnels) attack, On Stormy Seas, is quite amusing to see. When you hold down the sword attack button even longer, you can then release it to call a pirate ship to run over enemies.

Now on to the bottom half. Wash Buckler’s base attack is Somersaulty, which uses his tentacles to pull forward and run over enemies. The first upgrade is Octolash. After buying it, you can hold the button to slap with tentacles. Next, Deep Skin, is a passive upgrade which permanently increases his health. Ink Jet makes it so that Octolash will shoot ink that blinds and harms enemies. After these upgrades, you have to choose a path. The first path upgrades your leg attacks. Tentacleaver lets you hold the button to slap even longer and Sea Legs makes them do more damage. The second upgrade path increases your ink. Ink Trail makes Octolash leave an ink cloud. After you buy This Will Never Come Out, your ink cloud is more damaging. Finally, the Soul Gem attack, Tentacle Carousel, can be fun. After buying it, pressing the button quickly will make Wash Buckler spin attack and hurt anything nearby.

Comments:

Wash Buckler uses a sword and a gun. This means that he can be quite handy for both up close and ranged attacks. Plus his bottom half attack is a melee attack that can also cover distances. After it is leveled up, it is even more powerful. Wash Buckler is really an all-purpose character.

Wash Buckler is one of the Climb Ability of the Swap Force. The Climb puzzles are easy, at first, but they will get more difficult as you go. The trick I found is that they aren’t timed, so you really don’t have to rush at all. It’s a lot easier when you take your time climbing the wall!

Physically, both the top and bottom half of Wash Buckler look pretty good with the majority of the swappable characters. If you really love Wash Buckler, you can also get him in a "Dark" variation. He’s a fun character to use and I find that I go back to him over and over.
