You Gotta Love That New (Bat)Car Smell

It seems that Warner Brothers has had pretty good luck with games that start with "Batman Arkham." All they need to do is throw another word there at the end, and they're good. Sure, there's more to it than that, but the Arkham series has definitely been a good run of Batman-styled action and, in general, does a good job of allowing the average gamer to be Batman.

However, there's always been that one thing nagging at the back of your mind, right? You know what I'm talking about. The car. Chicks love the car. Oh, sure, it may have dashed in and rescued you in a very K.I.T.T. sort of way... in a cutscene in the past, but if you're going to play the part of the Bat and play with all of his fun toys... well, the Batmobile kinda goes without saying, doesn't it? I mean, if there was, like, a list of three gadgets, the Batmobile would be in there. Sure, Batarangs and some sort of grappling device, but the car, guys... where's the car?

Batmobile Battle Mode Gameplay Footage

Oh, right. Sorry... That's exactly what we've got here. Here is some beautiful video of the Batmobile as it's been re-imagined for the upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight game. Specifically, this video shows off something they're calling "Battle Mode" - which features omnidirectional movement and some big weaponry which is, of course, only intended for taking out robotic and mechanical targets. Batman doesn't do killing.

Still, there's a 60mm Cannon, an armor-piercing incendiary 25mm Vulcan Gun - great for anti-tank and surface-to-air-combat and a top-mounted blast-fragmentation laser and GPS-guided missile barrage, capable of targeting up to six enemies at the same time. Oh, and there's also the Riot Suppressor, which uses non-lethal slam rounds of medium-velocity flexible polymer and electroshock pods at the wheels to safely and comfortably propel hostile combatants away from the dangerous tires. See, I was serious about the no-killing thing.
